Green Horse's First Show -- help?

The Horse: I resently bought a new mare, she's a 5 year old Paint, registered. She was used on a dude ranch for less than a year, and hasn't had much training.

The Rider: I'm 14 years old, and been riding since I was about 2. I consider myself an experienced rider, and I'm up to the challenge of training my new horse.

The Dilema: I entered the horse in her first show, and it's 23 days away. Since she's a junior horse I can ride her in a snaffle in all classes, english and western. Butt she hates the bit, and doesn't do half as well as she does in a hackamore.

What should I do to get her ready? I'm prepared to scratch the show if it's going to be a problem, but I would like her to have the experience. She goes lovely on good days, but on bad days she won't budge. She's proven to be quite stubborn. Does anyone have any advice?
