Hey everyone ~ Lots of rain here in British Columbia. Was wondering, what is your best solution for rain scald. I have used Betadine and I also hear MTG is very good. Some people have found Betadine too drying. I have found it to be very effective for cleaning up the area. Trackbacks

Hi Maureen! I have indeed used MTG for the (I have always heard it called "Rain rot" here), same thing different name. Last year, my horse was boarded outside and all it did was rain, rain, rain. I am in northwestern Pennsylvania and our weather is pretty wet in the spring also. The MTG took care of the problem eventually, but it is difficult when they have to go back outside into the rain while being treated. I didn't have any problem with it drying the skin. I also used it to help my quarter horse grow a little bit more tail. It looks better now as I can see a noticeable difference. Good luck and stay dry!
