At Sleepy Meadows Ranch in Yigo, Guam there are no qualifications necessary. The staff will provide you with a lesson in basic riding instruction and you will be able to participate in a trail ride within the hour lesson.

Sleepy Meadows is fun, joyful, and I love it. I am 7 years old and I am learning to ride. I fell off the first time yesterday and I got right back on the horse. I love to ride.

There are 2 horse ranches in Northern Guam which provide riding instruction. English riding and jumping students go to Rock and Rail Ranch. Western Trail riding is offered at Horses of Sleepy Meadows Ranch. No previous riding experience is necessary at the ranches students can take lessons from the intructors and learn the basics of each style of riding. Each ranch has its benefits. Serious English riders ride at Rock and Rail ranch. It is the only facility on island that offers jumping.

Horses of Sleepy Meadows offers Western Trail rides. It is the only Western trail ride on island where riders can ride for hours in the country side depending on their skill level. Horses of Sleepy Meadows is a 10 acre ranch set in farm country of Northern Guam. Beginners start off in the enclosed 5 acres and depending on skill level are taken on a longer ride in the farms off the ranch premises. The ranch is situated just outside of Anderson Air Force Base Main gate and riders can ride along the main road or in the smaller back trails. The horses are exremely gentle and the caretaker is passionate about horses. Horses of Sleepy Meadows also accepts tourists for basic riding instruction. Transportation from the hotels is free and Western riding lessons are offered as well as a trail ride.

BELLA IS 4 YEARS OLD AND LEARNING TO RIDE AT SLEEPY MEADOWS. SHE LOVES HER HORSE. She is learning to sit straight up in the saddle and how to hold her reins and to use her stirrups and legs to balance. Summer 2008 is great! The ranch is great!
