Yahoo! Answers: I am so torn!!! What should I do! Help!?

Thank author of this post/commentHi, um, I have kind of a dilemma with buying a horse. I have been riding for 9 years now and I rode western for 8 of those years and english for 1. I realy want to do eventing because I couldn't decide between jumping and dressage and xc looks like so much fun. I WILL have a qualified trainer, so you know I won't be learning on my own. I am so ready for my own horse! I just have to save some $$, but my parents have to buy the horse for me b/c they drained my savings account. I can't decide between buying a young horse I love or an older one. I am going to be staying in Idaho for almost 2 months and then going back to MI. There is a 2 yr. old paint/hanoverian filly and I LOVE her so much! She has amazing movement, conformation, and has the sweetest personality ever. She is easy going and super amazing. She is only $950 (but I think I can barter a little :) I really want her, but I don't know if she is the best choice for learning to event and jump over 1 foot. Would I be better off with an older event horse? Or could she be a good fit for me? Please help! She is in MT, but thats where I live there now.

Perhaps you could arrange a "trial ride" on this horse, she may be perfect for you.

I am also an amateur horse rider, and I am willing to undergo more training in order to master the skills for horseback riding. I am also curious about the kind of horse that should be used for training and competition.

In addition to that, what are the important points that I need to remember when I try English riding? I hope to hear some good response guys. Great day.
