Rodeo is a sport which arose out of the working practices of cattle herding in Spain, Mexico, and later the US, Canada, South America and Australia. Bull riding is a rodeo sport that involves a rider getting on a large bull and attempting to stay mounted for at least 8 seconds while the animal attempts to buck off the rider. | Rodeo is the kind of sport where one who has a death wish can get their kicks without actually passing on. A friend of mine got into rodeo riding when we were younger, going out to Calgary in Canada to train with the best. He came home with his long braid arm broken in 5 places because it got tangled when the bull tried to buck him off. Be careful. |
| I have to agree that bull riding, whether done professionally or otherwise, is the most dangerous 8-second sport that anyone can get into. I don't even understand why people put their lives in danger by doing this. I definitely can't see myself doing it in this lifetime. Although some people do it for the adventure, for the thrill. They get a different kind of rush when they mount on that wild bull. |
