Vicki from Oil City -

I have gone through three different farriers trying to find the right match for us. The first two had issues with one of my horses because he has thin hoof walls in the front.

They had hot nailed him at least four times (three for one) (one for the second), meaning they placed a shoe nail in the quick of their hoof.

Finally on the third attempt, I found a wonderful blacksmith. He is quiet and gentle with the horses, but speaks to them sternly so they know they better behave. He put wedge pads under my horses's shoes (the thin walled one) and it improved his angles so much, he performs like a different horse!

Don't be afraid to change if you are not happy with your current blacksmith!
